Project Overview

Erosion is occurring near lower Storm Creek between 17th Place NW and the BNSF Railway corridor along the Puget Sound shoreline. A public-private partnership has been formed for a Storm Creek Erosion Management Project (Project) to install improvements to manage the risks from the erosion as it threatens both public infrastructure and private properties. A Project team of professional consultants led by the City is currently developing construction plans for these improvements.

A timeline of Hidden Lake’s history

Decades ago, erosion began along Storm Creek within the steep bluff along the Puget Sound Shoreline. Today, the erosion has resulted in a deep cut, also known as a “slot canyon”.
