Draft Plan Public Comment open July 17 through August 15

What is the City of Shoreline’s Park Facilities ADA Transition Plan (Plan)?

The City is creating a plan to make its parks easier to use for people with disabilities. This plan will look for things that make it hard for people to access Shoreline’s parks and suggest ways to fix them.

The Draft Plan Is Now Open for Public Comment!

Over the past few months, we have assessed parks for accessibility barriers, identified solutions and costs, and developed a method to prioritize barrier removal projects. We have also gathered community feedback about how people move around and use Shoreline’s parks. We hosted focus groups, interviews, and an online survey. This feedback helped shape a draft Plan.

These conversations and comments helped us decide which park updates to do first. To do this, we thought about how often people visit each park, how many visitors have disabilities, and the feedback we received. We also considered if a park offers special features, such as beach access.

Two of the parks we heard about most were Richmond Beach Saltwater Park and Twin Ponds Park. The draft Plan suggests including improvements to both of these parks in the City’s 2025-2026 budget.
